About Smythe Books, LLC

Smythe Books was founded in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, in 1998 by Jim Strawn. We are a full service antiquarian bookshop located in Dunwoody, Georgia, a city in metro Atlanta in northern DeKalb County. Our 2,000 square foot open shop features over 15,000 rare and collectible books. We have general stock in most fields with reading copies for the casual reader, as well as more expensive first editions and collector’s copies of rare and fine books. Smythe Books is an antiquarian book store specializing in rare and first editions. Of particular strength is its rare collection of first edition works by J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, G.K. Chesterton, Charles Williams, George MacDonald, Dorothy Sayers and others in that famous British tradition of both classic fiction and Christian apologetics. In addition Smythe Books offers a wide selection of contemporary fiction in a number of genres, as well as good representation across the spectrum of nonfiction, especially history and biography.
